Hey guys!
So this post is going to be about the things I have been loving in the month of May. Now it is currently 12:21am here in England as I write this but I really wanted to get this post up for you because tomorrow (Sunday) I am revising all day for my exam on Monday and on Monday I will have some other things to do and then Tuesday, Me,Chloe and our other best friend, Jayne, are going to Newcastle to see 5 Seconds of Summer in concert which we are super excited about. Anyway here are my favourites of this Month.
Beauty
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation- The shade is True Ivory. This foundation has been my go-to foundation every summer for the last couple of years. I like this foundation because it is very light on the skin and gives a really dewy finish. The foundation has tiny, tiny, tiny specs of light reflecting particles in it which automatically makes your complexion look so much more awake. It also smells amazing and has really good staying power.
Rimmel Stay Matte Concealer- I have had this concealer for about 2 years and I'm not sure if they even make this anymore but I found this in an old makeup bag and although you're meant to get rid of your makeup after a certain amount of time, I have only used this concealer once in the past. This concealer has amazing coverage and does not budge all day long. The concealer itself has an outside ring of skin toned concealer and a small circle of green concealer to counteract the redness of spots.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- The shade is Peach Glow. What I love about this powder is that although it does mattify your face it doesn't leave it looking dull, I use this over the top of my wake me up and you can still see the the dewiness off the foundation.
MUA One Direction Cream Blush- The shade of this blush is the shade 'what makes you beautiful'(NOPE- NOT OVER ZAYN LEAVING!!) in the pot the blush is a bright coral but when buffed into the skin it looks like you have a natural flush of colour.
Urban Decay Naked Palette- I have found myself loving nude colours on my eyes this month and have used each colour from this palette at least twice! I love how long the colours stay on your eyes for and also the pigmentation is amazing!
Magnifibres Brush on Lashes- If you want longer lashes then these are AMAZING! Basically you apply your usual mascara and whilst it is still wet you apply the fibres onto your lashes and wait for 30 seconds and then go over the fibres with your mascara. I stupidly cut my eyelashes when I was 9 because I thought they were too long. Little did I know that in a few years time I would long for long eyelashes. Now I can have them!
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara- This mascara is the only mascara I have ever repurchased. This mascara adds so much volume and length and does not crumble off halfway through the day. It doesn't clump either.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer- Thanks to my handy contour brush, I have recently been loving contouring my face. This is one of my only bronzers that blends seamlessly into the skin and looks beautiful!
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Paint- I'm not too sure what the colour is but it is a light berry shade that isn't too overpowering but is a statement colour none the less. It goes on as a lipgloss and then dries and won't move all day.
Real Techniques Buffing brush- If you want a review on this brush see my 'Real Techniques Brush collection and reviews'
Fragrance
Marc Jacobs- Daisy Eau So Fresh- Although I have had this perfume for a while I can't get enough of this scent this month. It has a sweet but floral, fresh scent and is perfect for this time of the year!
Food
Pasta Carbonara- with fat free cheese spread, chicken, peppers, onions and mushrooms. I like this meal because it is a nutritious balanced meal. It has carbs, dairy, veggies and protein. It is also really tasty and healthy too. I am going to do the recipe for this soon. Its so easy to make too!
Homemade Hummus and raw veg dippers- Again another healthy recipe. It is super quick and delicious. It also great when you need a snack but don't want the calories of a MarsBar.
Drink
Detox Water- Again another healthy drink that I have been loving and I have also got a recipe
so check it out!
Music
My fave songs of the month have been Nick Jonas-Jealous and James Bay- hold back the river. They are both amazing songs that when I listen to them, just make me want to rock out and sing at the top of my voice although I'm not too sure Simon Cowell will be putting me through to the 'judges houses' stage of the X Factor ;)
TV Show
My favourite soap of all time is Hollyoaks! If your not familiar with it it is basically about a made up villiage of usually sexy people living in it and people have affairs, get killed, get shot, fall in love and have children with their gay best friend etc. Its just so entertaining and addictive!
Activity
Dog walking has been such a good way to get me off my arse and on my feet, its nice just to have some time to gather my thoughts and also to tire myself out as well as the dog. We tend to go to the local beach so she can chase the ball into the water or into the woods to chase the ball into the leaves.
Well anyway, They are my faves of the month and I hope you enjoyed this Post!
Night Guys!

Healthy Eating Update and Detox water recipe.
Okay so I know I said I would do a daily food diary but lets face it- I'm too lazy.
I have really been eating so much more healthily the last few days which I am super proud of but my diet didn't actually start until Tuesday because I was poorly and didn't eat anything on Monday. The exercise has been limited because my hula hoop hasn't came yet.
Anyway, instead of doing a daily food diary I have decided to just update you every few days and also if I make anything that I think is quick and easy I will share it with you.
Today's recipe is Detox Water.
You will need;
- A large juice jug preferably with lid.(mine holds 4 pints so this recipe was for 4 pints of water)
- 1 lemon
- 1 lime
- 1 tea spoon of freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 of a cucumber.
- A handful of fresh mint( i dont use it in mine and it tasted good but that is the recipe)
All you need to do is slice up the lemon, lime and cucumber and add it into the water with the ginger (and mint) and leave in the fridge over night. Serve with Ice cubes.
This water is the strangest thing I have ever tasted yet its very refreshing and quite addictive! I have drank this water for 2 days and OMG I can feel the difference in my energy levels all ready!
Also this water goes amazingly well with a constant skincare routine( coming soon) When I have spots they usually go huge, bright red and can last about a week. Well lately I have been doing my skincare routine properly and it has made a difference to my skin however since drinking the Detox water spots that appeared on Tuesday and were massive have now shrunk and are nearly invisible and my skin seems brighter.
Honestly guys you NEED to try this detox water. You can drink as much as you like and honestly you will feel the difference!
Thats all for tonight!

Puppies ,Friends, Leavers and Teacher made me cry
Hey guys! Its Aimee.
I wasnt planning on posting today because i didn't think my sisters internet was on but it was so happy days.
So Im currently sat in a box. Full of puppies. Yep. You read that right.
No dont worry its not some kind of weird fetish. My sisters dog, Bella, had puppies two weeks ago and I've been roped into baby sitting them whilst her and her partner are at work, which I totally don't mind as I can have as many cute puppy cuddles as I like. BUT I was meant to be staying round Chloes tonight with some of our friends. The reason I agreed to look after them is Bella sometimes forgets that when the puppies cry she needs to feed them so someone has to get her into the box so the puppies can have their dinner. I would show you individual pics but my phone is dead so I shall add one in from facebook ( cue cuteness overload)
So today Me, Chloe and two of our other friends, Emma and Mary, went to town to get some presents for our favorite teachers because we leave four days after we come back from half term. Now for alot of people, leaving school can mean being separated from their friends, however I am lucky that most of my friendship group are all going to our local sixth form which is brilliant because i love all of my friends alot and I am lucky to have each of them(aww soppy)
So yesterday we had an English Literature exam which actually went REALLY well. But it was also our last Friday at school which was a mixture of emotions. I was really happy because who doesn't love the prospect of 13 weeks off, but also it was quite emotional. Mainly because our English teacher wrote a class poem which made most of us well up, she then proceeded to write a lovely paragraph in my leavers book which really actually did make me cry.
Anyway that's the end of this post as I need to place a puppy on a nipple(not mine)

My Real Techniques Brush Collection and Review
BEFORE YOU READ: I would like to just say that this is a long but very informative blog post which took me a while to write and sort out so please read carefully. Also I am not in anyway connected to Real Techniques. They are not sponsoring me and all opinions are my own.
Okay so I was a bit late, okay make that very late, onto the Real Techniques party bus. They had always been brushes that had interested me but I never had gotten round to making a purchase. So for my 15th birthday my mum bought me three of the individual brushes; the powder brush, the blush brush and the expert face brush. She also bought me the eye brushes kit. And that is when i really fell in love with these super amazing makeup brushes. Then about a week ago I went to my Nannas and she had bought me core collection without even knowing that i wanted them or that i had the others. After using the core collection over the past week it's safe to say I am well and truly hooked on these brushes, I do have more makeup brushes but I have barely used them since having my Real Techniques brushes.
WARNING! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED BY DIRTY MAKEUP BRUSHES I AM VERY SORRY. I have cleaned them all a few days ago but i don't have enough brushes to be able to clean them each time I use them and be able to use clean fresh ones the next day :)
Okay so first of all here is a little run down of the individual brushes I own
The Powder Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; Evenly applies powders and mineral foundations for smooth, high definition results.
The first thing you notice with this brush is that it is HUGE. It is perfect for a quick application of loose and pressed face powders and powder foundation. I've noticed that this brush picks up a lot of product but it always evenly distributes the products and not one single powder i have used with this brush has looked cakey on my face which is such a bonus! I use mine with pressed powder and powder foundation. Rating: 4.5/5
The Blush Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; Contour and define cheeks for flawlessly blended, high definition results.
Now you may be able to see from the photo that I'm not the only person that really enjoyed this brush, my puppy also enjoyed chewing this brush when she was left alone in the house for the first time and the brush must have fallen from the kitchen counter- nice little anecdote for you there. :) Anyyywayyyy... This brush is perfect for its purpose of applying blush directly where you would want it and that is partly because of the shape of it; it is slightly tapered and really round at the base which allows you to be able to get a heavy blush application by covering the whole brush with blusher or you can get a precise amount of blush exactly where you want it by only applying product to the tip of the brush. I wouldn't recommend this brush with cream/liquid blushes which is why I use mine for powder blush only. Rating; 5/5
Description from the Real Techniques website; Ultra firm and broad for application and blending of cream or liquid foundation.
Now, I used this brush for a while to blend my foundation into my skin. But one day my sister pointed out to me that I had lots of brush streaks on my face from where I had been applying the foundation, so this brush was well and truly in my bad books for a good 3 months until I was rewatching one of Tanya Burr's videos (Eleanor Calder makeup tutorial)and i noticed that she was using this brush to blend in a small amount of cream blush into the apples of her cheeks which left her with such a beautiful, natural glow. So I tried this with my only cream blush(MUA One direction cream blush ) and OMG the natural glow I acheived by using this brush was amazing! I would say that the brush is good for applying foundation but you need to really blend like crazy and then rub any brushstrokes in with your fingers which is just adding another step into your routine. However i don't think that I would ever use another tool for applying cream blushes ever again because I am so pleased with the finish I get when using this brush.
Rating: foundation application; 3/5. Cream blush application; 4.9/5 .
So those are the three brushes I got last July for my birthday and they are all still going strong even despite the dog attack my blush brush went through ;) . So continuing on with the face brushes theme now i shall talk about the Core Collection.
The core collection is a collection of four brushes which are made to create the perfect base for your makeup. Now when reading other reviews of this brush kit most people have said that they only bought it for the buffing brush and the contour brush and that they havent found use for the foundation brush and the detailer brush. For me I have found a use for each of them and I love them. Also the handy case it comes with that doubles as a stand is so useful for traveling.
The Buffing Brush.
Description from the Real Techniques website; Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation.
WOW! This is by far the best foundation brush I have ever used. I dont use it for powder of mineral foundation I use it for liquid foundation application. It is a lot less dense than the expert face brush which means that it doesn't leave brush marks on the skin. When used to buff any liquid foundation onto the the skin it gives such a flawless coverage that makes the skin look so natural no matter what type of coverage your foundation is. It is also easy to get a professional look even if - like me- you aren't a professional makeup artist. Rating. 5/5!!!
The Pointed Foundation Brush.
I really do like this brush although not for foundation, this is no fault of the brush though, me and flat foundation brushes have never had the best relationship. The size of this brush makes it perfect for highlighting the cheekbones and the brow bone, Because it is pretty small for a foundation brush and the fact that it's pointed makes it perfect to put just the right amount of highlight exactly where you want it. I also quite like this brush for applying a neutral skin toned colour all over the lid because for me it is the perfect size. Rating; 3/5
The Detailer Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or , use with lipstick for long lasting shape and definition.
This tiny pointed brush goes hand in hand with my concealer palette! Because of its tiny size it is so easy to distribute the concealer onto the tiniest blemish without having to put loads of concealer onto your face. I dont like this brush for the actual blending of the concealer especially around the eyes as I find it tends to pull the skin under my eye which isn't good. But all in all I do have a soft spot (haha spot,concealer..no pun intended)for this brush. Rating; 4 out of 5
The Contour Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer,soft-focus finish.
Thank you Sam and Nic Chapman for creating a brush so fricking marvelous! Contouring has always been something that I have wanted to do because I really like the way by face looks with a bit of depth and dimension, but i have never found a brush that makes the bronzer apply so perfectly. Usually i look like i have put brown army stripes onto my cheekbones and around my face which is not a good luck. Because the brush is small but fluffy, it allows a small amount of bronzer to blend out effortlessly to give the perfect finish. THIS BRUSH IS AMAZING! Rating; 5/5!
So there you have it, a run down on my favourite face brushes. Now Im going to do a review on the Starter Kit which contains 5 eye brushes; the deluxe crease brush, base shadow brush, brow brush, accent brush and fine liner brush. I will review all of them except for the fine liner brush because quite frankly I found it as much use as a chocolate fire alarm so I threw it away.
Deluxe Crease Brush
This is the brush that I always go to in order to blend my concealer. The reason I don't use this for the crease of my eye is because it is so big it doesn't really give the desired effect. I like this brush for buffing in concealer especially around the eye because it is very dense and soft which really acts like a mini buffing brush. Good for blending in concealer but not great for contouring the crease. Rating:⅗
Base Shadow Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; Applies a smooth, flawless foundation of colour.
I LOVE this brush so much, It is perfect for applying a light wash of colour over the lid to form a lovely natural base for your eyeshadow look or it even looks good when applied by itself because of its slightly domed shape. Also this brush is lovely to blend out harsh lines in the the makeup look. Rating; 5/5
Accent Brush
Description from the Real Techniques website; For precision detailing, highlighting and smudging.
I'm not going to lie, this isnt one of my most used brushes but I do really find this useful when it comes to creating a smokey eye whether it be to smudge eyeliner across the lid or to add highlight right into the inner corner. A good brush but doesn't really make a difference to my makeup if I can't find it. Rating; 2/5
Brow Brush.
Again this brow brush is good however it isn't a brush I can't live without. I do use it when i want a really sharp defined brow but for my everyday makeup I use the brush side of an Eyelash comb dipped in powder to create a natural look. Good quality but I could do without it. Rating 2/5
Well Guys that was a super long blog post to kick things off but I hope you have got an insight into what my opinions are of these products and hopefully if you are looking into these brushes you know feel more in the know.
Have a great day! :)
